I love AoE2, but after a few years, streams get stale. I tuned in for KOTD and really enjoyed it, but I don't watch daily live streams like I used to for a few years.
I think one of the key things that made T90 successful is that he was regularly trying new variants: from Forest Nothing to all...
I was watching Memb's stream and I'm not liking the map generation. I understand the intention to restrict the ability to wall, but the wood lines look too far.
More problematic is that some generations had small ponds that greatly reduced the amount of wood available for only one of the...
There were some good ideas around the production and the 'order of the sheep' thing, but unfortunately, it looks like everything was rushed. I think there's potential there if more thought is put into it.
Hera being arrested during the interview is another one that initially looked cool to me...
Most likely due to how they're counting. For example, Cysion could be referring to all FE employees (full time and contractors), whereas this press release refers to 53 game developers. The 53 number is likely not counting any contractors, or could be referring to the core game development staff...
It has to be a conscious decision. Customizable hotkeys should be something pretty trivial, that any inexperienced programmer does quickly.
It'd be bizarre if the game engine somehow makes this harder than it needs to be.
It baffles me that several people still don't recognize that the whole point of AoE 1+2+3 DE, and Microsoft's tournament funding since 2018 was to prop up the AoE4 launch.
It *is* thanks to AoE4 that AoE2 had such big prize pools in 2018-2021. The best hope is for Microsoft to recognize that...
Many people on reddit really loved the tournament and were hyped about it. The argument is more that the winners interview + closing should have been a celebration. On the contrary, the event ended with a very negative sentiment talking about viewer numbers. it was particularly bad when the...
It's very easy to sit back and curse "**** MS/goverment/politician/football/etc".
When you actually take an active role in trying to organize something in a community, people get a better perspective on how hard things can be; priorities/incentives of different stakeholders; short-term vs...
I'm as big AoE2 fan as anyone that started playing in 1999. I haven't played AoE4 and its current state looks appalling, but the comments on this forum are weird. Do you think Microsoft "loves" any game? It's a corporation.. they have fiduciary duty to optimize value for their shareholders...
For me it's quite the opposite: I'm fairly impressed that TheViper is able to put up a fight against some of the top AoE4 players who have grinded the game for the past months non-stop.
I don't like the current state of FB Gaming service, and I'm hoping it'll improve a lot.
However, a platform with 2.9 billion active users is the worst place for streaming?!
Most people have no idea about live video or streaming, and the platform as the potential to bring in a lot more viewers...
