I don't think you've understood the criticism that has been moved. Having a league with relegation system is fine, but relegating and advancing 8 out of 24 players after 5 BO3 sets feels completely off and will result in potentially very good players getting relegated due to very few games off...
Tbh most balance change threads get buried with downvotes even on reddit, and by the looks of it developers are aknowledging that the game is mostly balanced and balance patches are getting less frequent and less impactful, being made mostly by small tweaks.
I wouldn't be too scared by devs...
But in premier League they do not relegate 1/3 of the teams.
And confronting performances between different tiers don't make much sense, of course it's way harder to get good results in higher tiers where competition level it's going to be higher. Just Imagine getting relegated for finishing...

My point is that apparently the majority of the community constantly asks for slowing down the pace of the game with more wallable maps that allow to delay aggression for several minutes, but then also supports disruptive changes like this, with the motivation of increasing the pace of the game...
