You shouldn't lose even 1 villager in a 3 militia drush. Keep your vills on one side of lumbercamp if hes attacking your wood, use few vills to fend the militias time to time and send damaged ones to farm or stragglers.
What I do vs an aggressive drush is, first let one vill fight the mils. As soon as the other mils come in closer, I bring in 4 vills and block its path and damage them as much as possible and at the same time move the damaged vil near tc.
If you feel you can't micro much then just make 2 defensive mils and take advantage of faster up and go fwd prolly if the map suits you.
If it still doesn't help you, try drushing in all your games. Look at how he fends off your drush, and do the same when you're being drushed.
if possible don't even fight the militia, ur just losing resources. 3 militia drush is more for the distraction time, it works by delaying their eco while u boom urs a few more vils in dark. If u can palasade fast enough, or distract his militia and palasade. Then feudal first and make 1-2 scouts ur fine. Making ur own militia is another option.
A good 3 militia drush will draw ur vils and then run back repeatedly. Just as good as killing 1 vil.
Bringing ur scout back helps too. Most important thing is scout them, know its coming.
Basically, you need to fight 3 mil and scout with like 5 vils, then watch carefully the villager that is being focussed by the drusher. As soon as you see a vil getting damaged heavily pull it back to tc USING GARRISON KEY! Make necessary lag calculations too, since u need to order the vil to garrison earlier if there is lag. Now with 4 vils vs those army, repeat the same tricks until his army is beaten. Remember to attack the same enemy unit with as many vils as possible.
thank for all ur rox tips
that garrision key button was a nice tip cuz I remember I once sent my damaged villager to the TC
then militia attacked his back and he just turned around and engaged in fight again. :'(
You can put a few temporary palisades and wall your villagers in. You have to buy time to get a stronger feudal army such as a few scouts or archers which will kill the militia easy.
is it really smart to counter a drush with scouts? i mean, ofc if he interrupts your eco, you gotta do something, but in mpov a drush is just for getting castle asap after that. so if you go for scouts, the other might be early castle and take advantage of it...and maybe you cant even counterattack him with your scouts if he walled it...
i might be wrong about it..but i think you just wall your wood and gold. most of the time you barely need more then 2-4 pallisade for each. you shouldnt give up your fc cause of 3 militia...
but i totally agree to the point, that you gotta scout and expect it. and think about his strategie...is he going fc or maybe even flush in feudal....
i recently got the tip to scout your enemys base and compare his eco to your own, so he can barely hide his plan
I guess it depends on the strategy you're choosing. I don't think you'd want to go fast castle on 1v1 arabia. If enemy has an open map, then you can go for few scouts to harass his economy after killing drush with it.
