Dear Community,
We are happy to announce the long awaited SY(China) Nations Cup has finally started!
Absolutely delighted with the levels of interest shown ,both on Voobly, on the forums and of course on the Streams. It really has been fantastic, and good job everyone.
For those who missed the action this week, we would like to present to you a small recap of Round 1.
Europe |
Group 2 Witnessed the start of the SY(China)Nations Cup with Hungary A (vs) Holland . The Hungarians showed they are a very solid team and convincingly won this game 3-0.
The group also saw very strong performances from Russia A (even without Vinchester) and from (czech) Czech A (also without their "star" player Lojza).
For Round 2, we are certainly looking forward to Russia A (vs) Hungary A .
Group 1 - Saw the 3 strongest teams Turkey; Sweden and Spain A - comfortably defeating their opponents - Switzerland and (czech) Czech C both of whom put up brave efforts. We eagerly await the big match of Round 2: Sweden vs Spain A (Tuesday 29th of April, 16:30GMT)! This game will see community favorite's such as Spaden and TaToH go head to head.
Group 3 saw UK beating Germany C (game 2 is a must ) and Poland A also defeating their opponents Albania. We will have to wait until Round 3 to see UK and Poland A fighting it out in a game which already promises a lot.
Group 4, many people were wondering how "Edie's" team (France A) would fair, and they didn't let anyone down by beating a very strong opponent called Italy (very nice Arena game!).
Due to Slovenia's disqualification of the Tournament (no effort for scheduling was done even after numerous attempts of contact by the Administration), Turkey B have been moved into this group. Their match against another of Community's favorite - Finland - ended with a victory for the North European team.
Group 5 Germany B gave a very solid performance by beating Poland B and also Ukraine had no trouble defeating Belgium, again both Belgium and Ukraine showing true spirit and pride in representing there nations. Though losing, the Belgium team still didn't lose their good humour, as you can see in the chat here. "00:40:59 [ TAoE ]Dan: we dont forgive we dont forget but we do resign!"
Group 6 (czech) Czech B and Hungary B share the lead after defeating France B and Norway respectively.
Asia |
A very high level of skill and team play was shown in this Continent's matches.
The Highlight of the week was surely the amazing match between Vietnam B and Japan B . A must watch.
Group 2, the team (hong kong) Hong Kong China will only show their presence in Round 2. We eagerly await it.
Group 1 The 2 favorites in China B and Japan A had no problem defeating their opponents: Nepal and India B, both going against the might of AoC nations proudly. The big match between Japan A and China B that promises to be one of the best in the whole Qualification Stage, will happen this Wednesday, 30th of April 12GMT. Don't you dare miss that one!
Group 3 saw the highly motivated Japan C team take 1 map away from "BacT's" Vietnam A, still losing overall 1:3 to this also incredibly strong team, but showing superb team play.
China C showed that the letter "C" next to their name is no indication of less quality or skill: 3:0 against India A!
North & South America |
The North American qualification saw Hassan and Whack's USA A beat their countrymen from team C. A match up between this team and the very strong Mexico B team will happen in Round 3.
In the other Group, Mexico C were able to defeat the Chinese/American guys of USA B.
In South America, we had some very intense games between Brazil C and Chile. After some tough battles the Brazilian team came out on top. Please don't miss these Recorded games.
In the other Group, the Argentinians from Team B defeated their colleagues from Team C.
We are excited for the much anticipated first game of the incredibly strong Brazil B and Argentina A next Round!
