General Rules
All Games will be played on Voobly using:
- WololoKingdoms Mod (WK 5.7) In order to participate owning the AoE2 expansions is necessary. If you own Age2HD with all the DLC you can download the wololokingdoms mod for voobly here: https://github.com/AoE2CommunityGitHub/WololoKingdoms/releases
- Userpatch v1.5 Beta R6 (or newer version, if this one appeared to be fully functioning and bug-free at time of tournament start. The version will not change during the course of the tournament)
- VCOM Ladder in the tournament lobby. If both teams agree to play in a different lobby on Voobly, that is accepted as well, please use the Match Stats Only Ladder if the VCOM ladder is not available.
Sportsmanship and Fair Play are essential in this tournament. Every Player must respect their opponents. Cheating of any kind, Smurfing, bad behavior, insults, racism, flaming, etc. will not be tolerated. Cheating includes the usage of any sort of macro, account sharing and getting help of a third person (likely cases are spectators or twitch viewers). Not following the rules may lead to penalties up to an immediate disqualification.
Admin Action:
If any rules are broken or anything out of the ordinary happens, Admins will talk to the players to find a solution. Admin Wins and Admin Losses should be avoided if possible.
Important: If the players can agree on a solution without Admins, that’s also appreciated. Players have a lot of experience and know how certain situations should be handled.
Admin Decision: If no solution can be agreed on by the Players, then Admins are required to make a decision. In severe cases, Admin Action can be skipped and decisions can be made without hearing the players.
Scheduling and Playing the Games:
All games need to be played within the given timeframe. The deadline for each week is Sunday midnight at 24:00 GMT Playing games at an earlier time is allowed (if that’s possible). Any delays require Admin Action.
It is strongly recommended to post all available times on the relevant scheduling forum on AoEZone. Once players agree on a time, they need to post and confirm this time using GMT in the relevant scheduling topic. If the players cannot agree on a time, Admin Action is required. (Check your GMT on AoEZone.net or at http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx )
Not showing within 30 minutes of the confirmed time (for evidence purposes, the waiting team is required to take a screenshot showing the game room and the current time) will lead to Admin Action. Rescheduling is the preferred option in this case.
Recorded Games and Drops/Disconnections:
All games need to be recorded. In case of disconnections/drops, the game must be saved and restored. If restoring is not working, Admin Action is required. If Admins are not able to download all parts of a dropped game from voobly.com, the players are required to send the recorded game files to the Admins.
Spectating and Streaming
This tournament is open for streamers and spectators. Players are allowed and welcome to stream their PoV, it is not necessary for streamdelay. Any spectator being disrespectful can be kicked from the Lobby.
Rules can be added or changed during the tournament. Players will be informed about those changes on AoEZone.

Drops
Dropped games need to be restored.
Admin Restarts
When the map seems unplayable for both players (e.g. no resources present, players separated by uncrossable terrain, settings that will result in a tie. An admin restart can be given.
Restarts
Players can NOT make use of a restart. Intentionally dropping will be punished with a loss. Instead the players are allowed to call for 'extension'.
Unequal starts (calling “Extension”)
When one player suspects a very unfavorable or unequal start he/she can resign before 05:00 minutes in game time. This game will count as a loss, however it will count as an “extension”, making it possible to “extend” the Best of X with exactly two matches. When in a next game someone wants to call an “extension” it will NOT extend the Best of X by even more matches. Calling an extension after an eextension was called in one of the previous matches, will not extend the series with even more matches.
Note that the extension must be called before resigning. Your call will not be valid if you call it after resigning or when you get defeated before resigning
EXAMPLE OF A BO3 THAT IS EXTENDED ( BO3 -> BO5 )
G1: Fair Match, player A wins ( 1 playerA vs playerB 0, BestOf3 )
G2: Fair Match, player B wins ( 1 playerA vs playerB 1, BestOf3 )
G3: Player B suspects an unfair match and resigns before 05:00, player A gets a win and the BO3 will be “extended” to a BO5 ( 2 playerA vs playerB 1, BestOf5 )
G4: Fair Match, player B wins (2 playerA vs playerB 2, BestOf5)
G5: Fair Match, player A wins (3 playerA vs playerB 2, player A wins the series with 3-2)
‘CLEVER’ USE OF THE RULE:
you can use this rule to your “advantage” by resigning <5minutes, when you are losing the match (for example, when you notice that you have a serious disadvantage, or when you are about to lose an essential hero unit).
EXAMPLE OF ‘CLEVER’ USE OF THE RULE (Bo5)
G1: Fair Match, player A wins ( 1 playerA vs playerB 0, BestOf5 )
G2: Fair Match, player B wins ( 1 playerA vs playerB 1, BestOf5 )
G3: Fair Match, player A wins ( 2 playerA vs playerB 1, BestOf5 )
G4: player B is very unhappy with his start and is afraid to lose the series 3-1, so he calls an 'extension' by resigning before the 5:00min mark. He will be granted a loss but has another chance to try to comeback, by winning the following matches ( 3 playerA vs playerB 1, BestOf5 is extended to a Bestof7)
G5: Player B wins (3 playerA vs playerB 2 , BestOf7 )
G6: Player B wins (3 playerA vs playerB 3 , BestOf7 )
G7: Payer B wins and wins the round after a tough comeback, with the use of a clever “extension” call (player B wins the series with 4-3)
KotH/CtR matches (8player Free For All)
Format
One game played. 8 players Free for All (no team selected). For each game the gamemode will be decided randomly (50% KotH, 50% CtR)
KotH (King of the Hill): Capture the monument in the middle by defeating all enemy units nearby and putting your own units in range. You hold the monument as long as you have units nearby. Hold the monument for 550years. When the monument changes ownership the timer will continue to tick down, but will reset to 100years after it switches ownership when it was <100years left.
NOTE: be careful because there might be other winconditions aswell (protect your king, your towncenter, or other units) these winconditions will be specified in the objectives tab (in the menu at the top right )
CTR (CaptureTheRelic): Capture the relic in the middle by picking it up with a monk and returning it to your monastery. Your monastery is practically indestructible (don’t delete it though) and you cannot rebuild new ones. The relic will always be revealed, and so are monks carrying relics. When a monk carrying a relic or a transportship with a relic in it dies the relic will return to the closest solid ground.
NOTE: be careful because there might be other winconditions aswell (protect your king, your towncenter, or other units) these winconditions will be specified in the objectives tab (in the menu at the top right )

Admin restarts
The tournament host and/or admins can message the players in game to restart when the map is exceptionally buggy for KotH or CtR (some players severely lacking resources, space or access to the middle, or when the monument, relic or monasteries are not spawning [correctly] )
There is a maximum of two restarts, the 3rd try for a map will be played no matter how unfair the map.
Player Drops:
When a player drops all players are asked to save and exit and restore the file. Even if the dropped player was close to being defeated it is strongly asked to get back in game with all players. Only when the dropped player is not connecting to the game, and not responding to messages for 05:00 minutes the game shall be resumed without the dropped player.
Desyncs and other bugs
If the map fails to load, or the game desyncs and it is impossible to restore, a new game shall be started using all above settings. Civilizations shall be random again (so don’t pick your previous civ). It is advised to pick the same colour as last game however.
Teaming
Participants of this tourney must have a functioning voobly account. They shall play with their main account which has a rating representative of skill level (no smurfing)
After scheduling players will meet in the Room Lobby.
