Guys I just bought AOE:DE but my laptop cant run it because of bad graphics card. Maybe I want to buy a PC (No laptop) that can run DE, but I also want it to be able to run AoE4. What specs do I need for AoE4? Thank you.
Dont buy and I5. The 3600 is just a better and cheaper cpu.... 6 cores and 12 threads will be enough for the games you mentioned... really, games now in days Rely mainly on GPU performance....skimp on everything else so that you can get a good gpu.Hi Jupe thanks a lot. I did some research of my own regarding i5 9400F vs Ryzen 3600 and it appears that Ryzen is indeed better. I was having a hard time finding pc's with Ryzen 3600 for under EUR 1000 until I found this one: https://www.mediamarkt.nl/nl/produc...-tg01-0002nd-1641608.html?ga_query=ryzen+3600.
It looks like im going to buy either this one or the one with the i5 9400F. Mediamarkt is having 17% off on their entire store this weekend so I think I should be able to get a good deal here.
This one has 8GB RAM as opposed to 16GB RAM. My friend says this matters a lot and this is basically a no-go. He says I really need 16GB RAM minimum.
The graphics card is different. I was trying to look up differences online but its hard to find anything about the GTX 1650 IT. Does it even exist? I read somewhere that it is renamed to GTX 1650S. I have benchmarked that one against the GTX 1660 and the 1660 seems to do slightly better. I
Now I am leaning more towards buying the one with i5 because of the lack of RAM in the Ryzen one. But I can also consider buying additional RAM? Dont know how expensive that might be and if that is something that;s easy to install.
Let me know what you think!
Yes, building your own PC is always the best option. Btw, I don't want to advertise anyone, but this build is pretty much what you're looking for. (You can maybe get a better GPU, if budget allows it.)Thanks for your help all. I had acctually ordered the pc with the i5 but I have decided Im going to return it. Instead I want to build my own, I am just not sure yet whether I will assemble the pieces myself or will pay to have someone do it for me.

Simple, I extrapolate from current fully 3D strategy games. For example, the turn-based strategy Civilization VI is currently used as a CPU benchmark as it still murders CPUs. The several-year-old Ashes of Singularity is still sometimes popping up as a GPU tester.Hi talgaby thanks for your answer. Just wondering what makes you think aoe4 will need that high MINIMUM specs? Are there any games atm that have the same minimum specs as you listed?
Well talgaby, if what you say is true, the PC components that I have selected should be able to handle that:
AMD Ryzen 5 3600 Boxed - 165 EUR
ASRock B450M Pro4 - EUR 75
AsRock Radeon RX 5700 Challenger D 8G OC - EUR 325
Fractal Design Focus G Mini - EUR 50
Crucial Ballistix Sport LT BLS2K8G4D32AESBK - EUR 75
be quiet! Pure Power 11 400W - EUR 50
Kingston A2000 500GB - EUR 70
Tota: approximately 820 EUR.
Along with this I want to buy a 1440p 60-75 Hz 27 inch screen.
Would you guys change anything?
Thanks!
Will do sir, I'll report back ASAP.
Also, do you think I should go a 1TB SSD instead of 500GB? I feel like space wise 500GB is enough for me, but I think 1TB SSD also enhances total performance of the build? Not sure.
I got 407W load wattage and 450W recommended PSU for your setup with this tool. I calculated with 2 USB 3.0 device(mouse&keyboard) and 1 24" monitor. At least 10% extra power to bare minimum is usually recommended for system stability. I would personally go at least 500W, maybe 550-600W to have future proof if/when you want to upgrade your package in 2-3 years. For 20 bucks it's totally worth it.@soutfire I think the motherboard along with the Fractal G Mini case are good enough and have a nice cheap price, will keep those. Motherboard should work fine with the processor from what I read on the internet.
@drunkenhalb Yeah its 16GB RAM. I am not really interest in overclocking. About the PSU, why would I need more than 400W? Not planning to overclock so I don't think I need more W. About freesync, thanks, I'll take that into account.
@Tarzan Thx for the tip about 5600XT. I'll look into that one. Looks like it has good performance compared to its price. Regarding the SSD, still thinking whether I should upgrade to 1TB lol.
Thanks all for your help.
