About the Titanic. I'm not completely sure that it's wise or proper meme to use. You've to remember that a lot of people died there. Yes, it was awhile back, but I don't think it's good thing to make fun of.
just don't watch his stream then?

In this day and age I can't tell if you are serious or joking. But I laughed anyway
But you're playing a game that involves killing poor farmers?I don't personally find 1 500 people dying funny. But maybe there's something wrong with me then.
Finding humor in tragedy is as human as it gets. You might be missing out.I don't personally find 1 500 people dying funny. But maybe there's something wrong with me then.

But we are all different. If you don't like this kind of humor, watch something else. It's easier than making other people adapt to your tastes.
I would suggest for future editions to have a backup caster if Memb disconnects during a game.
You just need to type url of the channel plus /videos into the browserAnyway to change the thumbnail for past broadcasts in Twitch to stop spoilers? I try to watch the games live, but sometimes I'm just too busy. During the Mr. Yo vs Lierrey Semi-Finals:
I stopped watching after Mr. Yo was up 3-2. And when I went back on Twitch to watch the rest of the games, the Thumbnail was Lierrey during his "winning interview".
Backup caster? This tournament is casted by many people, since it's open, but thats not the point here. The point is, that this is Membs tournament, so waiting for the host of the tournament, if he is having tech problems in a semi final (within reason of course) is the normal thing to do.
What do you refer to to call it normal ? Normal in sports ? Normal in esports ? Normal in AoE ? In sports, the host of the tournament doesnt broadcast himself. FIFA doesnt have a FIFA stream but sells the rights to broadcasters. There are many broadcasters usually, and if one drops they wouldnt interfere with the competition and force them to pause the game. In other esports, the host is the only broadcaster usually. Its only in AoE where I know that the event is streamed by multiple casters and the host itself casts as well.Backup caster? In this case it's best to go to the current vod before leaving the stream. Then maximize and don't look at the bottom so u don't see how much time is leftAnyway to change the thumbnail for past broadcasts in Twitch to stop spoilers? stop crying people rivers and use your head before posting stuffWhat do you refer to to call it normal ? Normal in sports ? Normal in esports ? Normal in AoE ? For me it is the same problem as with DMWC3 TaToH-Daywalker where they put the lobby on private and noone could spectate it. Then nili as caster and admin called admin re (without any rule to justify it) which reached the players only at the end of the game and they needed to replay an already decided game just so viewers can watch it. I called it to be with very little respect to the competition, the same I would say here. Difference here is, that it only affected one of the casters, be it the host or not.
The tournament must go on, at least for that one game. Pausing the game here can only be a an admin decision. However, I cannot find any rule to pause the game when the host has technical issues in the rules. So I hope the players were asked here if they want to pause the game to wait for Memb to return, otherwise its a rather arbitrary admin decision interfering directly with the competition out of non-competitive reasons.
It is again a problem arising by the conflict of interests. Its like the FIFA boss (as host of the tournament) is simultaneosly referee on the field (the admin of the game) but also commentating the game for his own channel. In this case a caster uses power granted by being the host of the tournament to redirect a admin decision. A decision neither an independent host nor an admin would make. Objectively, the pause has lowered overall viewer numbers, the means of success for the host granted money by the sponsors to get a big reach as possible. Also an admin as a referee wouldnt pause the game because of a channel disconnecting. There is still a competition going on, and the competition itself is of so much value that as little as possible interference is wished to happen. The winner of a 50k tournament is still something worth even though noone has watched it.
For me, this shows that we still have a long way to go, to end up as a professional esports. Decisions like this feel for me rather like a game show hosted by a TV channel with very individualized rules than a sport event hosted by an actual sportive community to find the best player of the game in standardized settings.
I have been following memb for 3 years straight, this is the first time I see memb having technical issues, I guess he's the streamer with the least problems. This kind of things happen and it's frustrating but, at the end it was nice series and good streamI would suggest for future editions to have a backup caster if Memb disconnects during a game. Just imagine if the game was in a critical situation and one of the players made a big mistake right after the pause - it would have caused a lot of drama and frustration, it's so easy to lose focus when there is a 20+ minutes pause.
Other than that, thanks for the amazing tournament and the effort by everyone involved.
Absolutely agree, we also talked about that on Ornlus stream. And I am not the only one thinking this is highly unprofessional and makes the difference between Esports and A computer game being put into a tourney. What do you refer to to call it normal ? „If memb couldnt cast the tourney then we Wouldnt have one“ huh???? Explain LULI tend to agree and in an ideal world players would always be put first, but you know what an official response would look like, right?
”If Memb couldn’t cast the tournament, you wouldn’t have a tournament in the first place.”
And honestly it’s hard to argue with that.
At the end of the day, MembTV is not a major corporation that can afford to lose a few bucks here and there. It’s a huge investment on his part to organize such a tournament and if we want to continue seeing such amazing tournaments it obviously needs to be somewhat financially viable for Memb and his team to continue to do so. It would be catastrophic for his channel to not be able to upload the whole series to Youtube for example.
So yes, I wish he didn‘t have to take that decision, but I totally understand why he had to.
„If memb couldnt cast the tourney then we Wouldnt have one“ huh???? Explain LUL
Its a huge investment for him? I have the feeling people dont know anything.
The money was sponsored by two people. Memb hasn’t invested Anything but time, but since hes streaming everyday for „30 hours„ that doesnt make a difference, he didnt have to quit his fulltime job to host the tourney nor did he use any of his own money for it (afaik)
Theres sponsors that wanna host a tourney and ask someone to do it, if Menb didnt do it then someone else wouldve done it.
I disagree, And trust me I have a lot of insight in things but I said what I wanted to say here- PEACE ✌Oh I've been involved in the organization of some of the biggest AoE tournaments pre-2016, so I do know quite a bit about what goes on behind the scenes of such big events. Ask Orjan, he remembers.
Well...that's just your ignorance showing. No offense.
Overlays, Admins, equipment, it all requires an investment that is not always covered by the sponsored money.
And Memb has already made at least 1 video that I saw where he details how he barely breaks even after such an event, even with all the donations and subs that always come with it.
Memb had a job too before he started streaming, you just probably weren't around to know it.
That's mostly not true.
Microsoft sponsors HC3 because they liked how the previous iterations were run. They sponsored NAC3 because they like how the previous iterations were run.
And they sponsor KotD3 because they like how Memb and his team ran the previous iterations.
So they don't just sponsor 'something', they sponsor stuff they know are well organized and have prestige in the community.
I disagree, And trust me I have a lot of insight in things but I said what I wanted to say here- PEACE ✌
