Just play lithuanians. EZI miss range upgrades on TC through fletching too. Tired of being pushed with mangonels, while 3 4 tcs booming

More of an AI/ML focus and yeah CS in general is pretty dry ngl 11 but there's a lot of potential in the field.Good luck with CS (studying EE too by any chance?). Not to crap on it, but to quote the Dalai Lama, it feels more like a dry science 11. Seems hard that way.
People will never understand that because it is completely wrong. You would have to be utterly deluded to think like that.If people do not understand that Ranked = Competitive
You have your priorities messed up. Rank/elo only exist in order to provide fair games. They aren't the goal. They are merely the mean to enable the goal which is providing as fair games to as meany people as possible.The goal of ranked, whatever the game is, is to play for elo or rank.
It's nice that we agree on something.Your avatar is a manga.
Supposedly it's related to detection lag where it recognizes right click with delay/doesn't recognize deselection of TC and it can place the waypoint on the minimap if you hovered above it - so the waypoint can get set pretty much anywhere on the map.i wonder how many people encounter the "tc spawn point changes randomly" glitch. Just today in a game i have my vills spawning to a random location that I never even looked. One second my spawn point is normal, next second it's forward near my army, next second it's in between my base and my ally's base. i might have to revise my 4/10 rating down

Ah! Good to know - if you don't know that an this situation happens is very confusing. Goodbye random vills meeting in enemy base or some lost dark place in the corner.^ this.
Its not exactly a bug per se, it's more of a misclick which happens if you are clicking too fast and the game doesn't register all your clicks at that exact second. So if your mouse hovered over the minimap at the next microseconds, those clicks would get registered when the mouse was at a different position, on the minimap to be precise, and if you have this unfortunate combination where you have your TC selected (if creating vils), you reset the tc gather point somewhere on the minimap
Pretty sure I had this happen in a game a few days ago (not 100% certain though). So I'm guessing it's fairly common unfortunatelyi wonder how many people encounter the "tc spawn point changes randomly" glitch. Dude it took like 2 years after people in the forums brought up the bug with TG elo to fix that and reset elo. Nothing fundamental has changed since then. They are milking the game with powercrept DLC civs with designs that the original developers intentionally didnt put in. They have been looking hopless against cheaters for like 3 years. They have no way of seriously reporting people. Their lobby system is ****. matchmaking forces you to play maps you dont want. pathing sucks. performance on low end hardware sucks. clans are useless. social features are useless making Discord the only viable way of finding decent teamgames.What exactly are the demands of the majority of the community?
And how do you know that's in fact the majority if we don't have access to any data on these things?

Thats just the stuff that came to my mind in 2 Minutes.
Edit: Oh and add all those weird bugs where you click sth and it doesnt register or when TC gather points randomly jump.
Well yes and no. Sure most people play aoe2 like my father, watching tv with one eye or drinking some beer and just chilling after work day killing AI for fun. Although that's at same time is bit weird argument for this forum, as none of those players care what is patched nor if game is balanced as you said.Again, it sucks that's how you experience the game and I'm not in anyway saying that's not bad.
But you and others here (and me too for the longest time) seem to be totally unwilling to even entertain the thought that these things you mention above are absolutely *irrelevant* to a big portion of the player base.
In fact I suspect the vast vast majority of the player base has no idea what civs are good or bad in a competitive setting.
They have no idea what good or bad pathing is from a competitive perspective.
They probably have no idea what their Elo even is if they only play a few games with friends here and there.
Again, the player base for DE is absolutely massive.
Easily over 300k unique players monthly.
If you're someone who used to play on Voobly, chances are you are a very good player and the way you see/experience the game is *very* different from the vast majority of the casual player base.
There is a reason why this game has so many people only playing campaigns while all the big titles that arent RPGs focus on multiplayer.

Is just natural that people in this forum will talk about more of competitive area/settings, there might be few people, but probably most people who never play 1v1 or TG ladder are not in forum reading stuff about game they don't take seriously.
It just feels wrong you want to emphise this argument so much, because tournaments get huge prize pools being sponsored. I don't know how profitable or not those tournaments are, but with such prize pools makes no sense to ignore competitive scene as much and how many ppl play competitively is quite irrelevant here in my opinion. Because to make such patches is basically about resources/money and seems there is quite a bit of money.
If they wouldnt patch and sponsor tournaments, then I could see your argument being valid, that they focus only on those casual players. But spending like half million on prize pools per year and not having even decent stat page, friend list/chat just makes no sense.
Yeah but my point is that those players don't care about anything at all, unless campaigns, many might not even care about it. So in a sense majority who actually wants something it might be those things. What I'm saying is yes, you are right with most people are just plebs who don't care about anything specific, they just play the game and don't care about any patches. But now question is what we do with that info? Like do we agree it's then good to do nothing and just release definitive edition v2 or we actually try to look bigger picture and don't ignore hundred of thousands prize pools for tournaments. I mean it might be interesting topic, however I'm not sure how we can evaluate ladder games exactly. If you want to play with friends, it mostly would be ladder or lobby games. All patches are according competitive play too. Even current AI acts mostly as a player in ladder, nowadays it even does drush(no idea if for plebs is good, but most plebs probably just play arena or something). But even if there are way less competitive players most patches and map updates are being done because of it, so in a sense game to grow and be better needs competitive scene(not talking just about top30, but overall ladder). It just somehow seems natural, that even if there are way less competitive players, but game is designed around it a lot, otherwise balance things doesn't really work. Then we ofc can talk about how game wasnt really touched for 15 years and wasnt that well balanced and it survived, although back then most games were not really patched or very rarely, currently if game is not being patched it signals game is dead or dieing and no one want to invite their friends and invest time into such game.Sounds like you're confused regarding what this conversation is about.
And I don't blame you for that!
- I asked someone how do they know what the "majority" of players want;
- Zbyszek replied with this implying (or at least that's how I understood it) that's what the majority wants;
- I explained why I think what he calls the majority is in fact not even close to actually being the majority;
Well most do not say as it's a disaster game, but you have to be blind to not see that few civs are very dominant, especially in arena. Although that is another topic, as who knows what elo you are, if you are 800 elo, ofc it doesnt matter much and I dont mean it as bad/offensive, I trully think in 800 elo civ matters less.This forum never ceases to amaze me, the amount of people complaining about how terrible the game is, yet are on this forum all the time, consuming AoE2 content, talking about it, playing it, etc. but somehow, this is a horrible game, no balance, new civs are dumb, etc.
Have you tried playing other RTS games, and seen what issues they have?
AoE2 has issues, and I agree with the lack of ranked lobbies being an option is frustrating, and solo queuing TGs can be very not fun. But last night perfectly encapsulated why I love the game. I get online, see a few friends are on, get on a call on Discord, and play in an 8 player lobby doing Arena games, and it was a total blast. All the new civs keeps it fun and you never know what army comp people are gonna go for, it wasn't just knight/xbow over and over and over, there was all sorts of army comps mixed in. We had players of various skill levels playing all together, and everyone still had a lot of fun!
