Aussie open 2020 will be a 2v2 Tournament for players in the AUSNZ community and those who are part of our community. The tournament will start with a group stage and then go into an elimination tournament. players will be playing a set of games each week starting the 29th of June. we will be running two separate leagues for the tournament and to try to make this competitive for everyone involved there will be a Max rating the teams can sign up with. The average of the team rating must not be higher than 1650 on the 1v1 ranked ladder. current 1v1 rank, as well as highest, achieved 1v1 rank are taken into consideration. Admins reserve the right to manually change(add or decrease) your rating if it is considered your rating does not match your skill level. This means that if your rating is currently 1800 on the RM 1v1 ladder you must team with someone who is rated under 1400 so that the combined rating is lower then 1600. Admins will have the final say on what rating a player is considered to be at and if a team signing up combined rating is too high.
Team Requirements:
Gold League: Rating average of under 1650
Silver League: Rating average under 1300 (though will be determined by the number of sign-ups)
All players but live in Australia or New Zealand or be a part of the AUSNZ community.
If you are signing up with more then 2 players to have a backup all players must meet the requirements. avg rating from teams will be taken by any two players and not by the average of all 3 to avoid people trying to drop there rating.
In the elimination stage teams with more than 2 players must either: A: use the same 2 players for an entire series/round of games OR B: alternate players after every game. – for example a team consisting of players abc, in a round they may either A use any two players for the series of games (ab or bc or ab) OR B alternate a player every game (game 1 ab, game 2 ac, game 3 bc, game 4 ac etc.). – note that usual rules apply where teams cannot use players together which are over the rating cap.

Civs will be picked by team captains of each team. Each team will have 3 bans each then each team will pick the civs that they will have for the full set. Team captains will pick civs by using captains mode. For each set teams will have a spare 2 civs in their draft. The links for the captains mode draft are below:
If teams Ban a civ that has already been picked in the civ draft prior to the ban then that Ban is Void and is wasted, teams will still be able to use that civ.
If teams start the game with a civ that is not part of their civ draft/not a civ they meant to have then they have the option to restart the game and have the Opposing team choose their civ to be played in that game or forfeit the game. This is because the team who picked the wrong civ has knowledge of the opposing civs and can pick a counter to use.
Note: In the BO7 games there will be 14 civs per team and no spare picks.
