I know this is going to sound like the biggest fanboy post, but can we please talk about this?
How absolutely crazy is it, that Viper managed to not only yet again win a major tournament (notably a tournament that was in part created to NERF him by making his opponents not be afraid of who they are facing), but also do so in a more convincing fashion than ever before (14-2 against the best players in the world)?
And how much more insane is it, that he did it while
- hiding his identity for a majority of the viewer base until the final
- cosplaying as freaking Saladin from the aoe2 campaign in the colour green throughout
- playing weird/worse on purpose in the earlier rounds, just to troll, for no benefit whatsoever
- only to turn it up to 100 % and just completely dominate the finals?
I was never a big fan of the HC concept and still find it a bit gimmicky, but I've rarely been as entertained from an aoe2 series as I was during this final. Just absolutely hilarious and unbelievable.
