It makes me scared seeing people here defending players who are using the exploit...
Sorry this is so funny!!!Warning for those in the 14-1500 range and, presumably, also the several hundred elo above that
I really appreciate how this person realised that the people they came up against might be a little nervous about anyone playing Lithuanians, especially on Arena, and so decided to put their minds at ease...

And when I put 11 in the chat he said "cmon man ur a boomer" as if a) that justified everything and b) it was true which I don't think it was considering I'd gone heavily into monks scouts and spears because I didn't believe that he wouldn't cheat and had only just got my 2nd TC up
Here's the aoe2.net profile for those interested:

Also, as an edit, I've just realised how dumb it is that I thanked someone for saying they wouldn't ruin my game by cheating
nah, boi, internet cowboys go bang bangMy estimate on people using this exploit:
2% - Let's see how high I can climb with this
2% - woops I didn't mean to use it, but hey that's hilarious
96% - Trolololol! I have +200 attack knights check this out guys!!!
I get the frustration the legit abusers cause and that it's annoying to vs, but I think banning people for this is just a teensy bit of overkill. Sure, make a list and don't play against those guys again, or let everyone know that x or y player is not actually 2k they just bug abused their way there if it really upsets you that much, but don't try to get people banned for this. Please, be reasonable...
Probably less than 30 days.Honestly how long does it take to freaking fix this?
What about people who spec cheat in a 1000$ showmatch? Do you also facepalm hard at people defending them? Do they definitely deserve to be banned permanently?I'm face-palming so hard reading people defending idiots abusing the glitch to get +200 or +300 elo. Besides all the waste of time and frustration those morons are causing, can't you even realize that this behavior also hurts low-mid ELO tournaments because people with a fake highest rate will sign up?
They do definitely deserve to get banned permanently, as well as microsoft/devs owe everyone an apology for yet another buggy patch.
I see a lot of posts of people that are shocked or scared, that people „defend“ bugabuser. But the truth is: no one is defending them and no one is saying that it is a behavior that should be supported. All we say that the kind of list that people are willing to make here has too many disadvantages to be a good idea. And that has already been proven just with the few names that got actually dropped here.
Also I see a lot of people liking the idea of „resetting“ the elo to where it was before the patch when we finally get a hotfix. But why? Do we want to award the heavy bug exploiters? They might gain a lot of elo these days. But when the bug is fixed they will get stomped the exact same amount of games they used this bug now until they are back to the elo they actually deserve.
So they either get stomped for a significant amount of games, or they might just instant quit to drop in elo. And if they insta quit you guys finally have a reason to ban them from tournaments, because dropping in rating on purpose is a reason to do so.
And btw: I think it is positive for the community that people are using the bug. That enlarges the frustration within the community and increases the pressure towards the devs by a lot. I am not saying that it is good or supportive behavior, but even that has some good sides to it.
Yeah, but that's also how Terrorists think. In the end the players that have to play against this are the only ones who suffer. I don't think that this "speeds up" the process of fixing this. Addressing the devs directly on reddit, twitter, etc. is probably more impactful. And btw: I think it is positive for the community that people are using the bug. I think resetting the ladder is a clean solution. In theory you're right that it will all balance itself out eventually, but that takes time. In the short term it may mean people are able/unable to sign up for tournaments they shouldn't/should be able to compete in. It's also just annoying for everyone to have to put in more time to correct their new Elo, especially if they lost it to abusers. Resetting the ladders is sinpler and avoids all these issues.
I agree with the first point you made. I think people are just angry and aren't fully appreciating the consequences of what they're saying.
Resetting the ladder makes no sense and it wont happen.
You take away elo from the cheaters and give it back to people who lost to cheaters ok fine. But what about the other people who eventually won vs a cheater or just didnt face one? You take their elo away aswell. Guess they wont be happy right?

I think undoing an obvious wrong is much more important than letting a few people who beat some cheaters have their glory. Reset the ladders and forget about it. This will all be over in a week or two and life will go on.
i didnt face a cheater so far. I was thinking to avoid rated games for a week but in fact i am bored and i just played and it seems most people in my rating play random civ or pick and then dont pick lith.
Yes, if people wouldn't abuse it that hard, we wouldn't have a problem and the devs can fix it on the next update? You're going circles. It would be the same as the Malay bug.and how many people do you think would da that if only a hand full of people are abusing the bugs? i guess that number would be very close to 0.

Are you serious? You picked BURGUNDIANS? I thought the goal was to peacefully boycott them! No wonder Cysion had to abuse the relic bug to have a chance against such a broken civ that ruins the game for everyone!
No, you are mistaking me here. I'm saying how game-breaking a bug is, determines how fast we can expect a fix. Obviously you have a correlation with game-breaking bugs and people who are tempted to abuse it or maybe even abuse it without intent, because that bug is directly in the Lithuanian playstyle.no, i am not. you actually prove my point there. i said, that even this bad behavior has a good side to it. and that good side is that the bug will be fixed sooner.
I put random civ in the scenario editor and i got thatAre you serious? You picked BURGUNDIANS? I thought the goal was to peacefully boycott them! No wonder Cysion had to abuse the relic bug to have a chance against such a broken civ that ruins the game for everyone!
