Advice on the strategy, nice strawman though.
I rate your bait 0/10.Advising on whether you should recommend laming sheep or not is part of advice on the strategy!
I rate your bait 0/10.
Lol you are something else dude. People in here are giving you feedback and 100% lack the capacity to accept it without resorting to telling people they're trolls or "baiting" you. I'm not, but keep doing what you're doing and you'll find (no surprise) not a warm reception to your posts.
Advice on the strategy, nice strawman though.
Any tips or constructive criticism to make the guide or strategy better without changing the theme would be appreciated, thanks.
I dont wnat to troll, i just wanted to point out that laming - even though part of the game - should not be part of a build order.
I like the cumans build, i wilkl try it out some time
1. Yes, taking ressources is a part of the game, and i do highly support that laming Boars or sheep should always be allowed in pro player tournaments, and its also fine for regular rated games. However: Most Pro players dont lame in rated games, since it is less luck based and more fair not to try and lame your Opponent. Especially for executing a pre-planned Build Order, it is better to have your regular 8 sheep and 2 Boars, since this is what you are training with. A certain build order might not be possible if you only have 6 sheep, so laming kills this BO. On the other Hand, if you have 10 or more sheep or 3 Boars, you might be able to execute the Build even faster, by sending 1 less guy to wood, building less farms and maybe go up 1-2 vils earlier. So if you are able to steal sheep, the Build Order you have written down might not be optimal anymore and there are ways to execute this build even faster. A Build Order should always be planned with the standrad ressources 1 player has on the map.
2. Since this Build is designed for intermediate Players, trying to lame your Opponents might result in a scout fight over some sheep or a boar etc. Stuff like this in Dark Age disturbs most players except 2k+ from executing their Build order flawless. For people trying to learn and improve, their own laming attempt will most likely be a big negative point for their build order.
3. Walling in Stone or Gold piles near to your opponents base is also considered laming, aswell as walling in opponents Lumbercamps or deleting straggler trees etc. , so "laming" is just a general term for denying your opponent having access to his ressources.
4. It just not nice. Its kind of the bad sportsmanship of AoE, just like in a football game a player is willing to take a yellow or even red card to deny a counter attack. Its fine in a Champions League game, but you dont target your opponents legs from behind when you are just playing a fun football game with some friends.
Do you get what i mean? It was kinda trolly of me to only pick at this single point in a very long build order guide that i am sure you put a lot of effort into. I appreciate it. But please stop telling people to lame, especially in a build order.
This is what I was referring to. He's advising you that including laming as part of a specific "build order" is not good advice because it's so variable. It's better to advise them to push deer or something where you know you'll be able to do that on a more consistent basis if you want them to get a food boost.
THAT IS SPECIFIC FEEDBACK ON THE BUILD ORDER WHICH IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR! If you don't agree with it that's fine, but stop saying people are trolling you, baiting you, etc. etc. because most people here are not. Just because you don't like what people have to say doesn't mean it's invalid.
I personally think most of your advice in the guide is fine. I've been beaten twice on Arena with the Cumans capped ram rush so there's no argument that it can be effective.
But yeah, just keep crying about how toxic we all are, we're all out to get you, blah blah blah blah blah.
This site is so toxic, I made a guide for the community in a timely manner right after a patch trying to utilize the changes in the patch and this is the response, but, only on AoEZone. On Steam, Reddit, and AOE Official forums completely different responses.
Wow I don't know what on earth I just read. referring to the comments section. Never seen toxic nonsense like this before on an aoe2 thread?
