Since there isn't really a lot of discussion going on yet about the games from last weekend I'd thought I would start a thread to discuss the games. I haven't watched all games so here are my thoughts on what games you have to see if you didn't see them yet:
Best games so far:
Ro16 Zuppi vs Miguel game 2 (Baltic) - nice comeback by Zuppi after losing the water in early Feudal Age
Ro16 Melkor vs Hearttt game 2 (Scandinavia) - nice game by the "underdog" Melkor
Ro16 Melkor vs Hearttt game 3 (Valley) - nice strategy by Melkor, playing to his own strengths
Ro8 vivi vs dogao game 2 (Cross) - just a typical vivi game, it's quite short and one-sided but had a lot of action (and great totally unbiased commentary )
I probably forgot some, because I didn't watch them or because I forgot, so feel free to mention some of your favourite games and I'll add them.
Biggest upsets:
Melkor winning against Hearttt has to be the biggest upset imo, even though Melkor has won quite a few games against experts on arena, I don't think anyone expected him to beat Hearttt on these more open maps. Another upset imo was vivi beating dogao in the Round of 8. vivi has always been quite inconsistent, so this one is not such a big upset as vivi at his best might be better than dogao. This series might also be the shortest 2-1 in quite some time (total duration was 59:07).
ECL standings:
Teams in the Semi's and thus sure of at least 3 points: aM', Secret, Frantic, SY
Teams that reached the Quarter Finals and lost, so got 1 point: Secret, LoS, Coachers, Suomi
Teams without any points: VNA
So the scores so far are:
1. Secret: 4+
2. aM': 3+
2. SY: 3+
2. Frantic: 3+
5. LoS: 1
5. Coachers 1
5. Suomi 1
8. VNA 0
It's quite surprising to see so many teams already gather some points and Frantic in the top 4 is also quite surprising, but of course it's only the first week, so these standings will still change quite a bit.
