Format and Settings |
The tournament is to be played on Age of Empires II: The Conquerors with the 1.4 Userpatch.
Games are to be played in the Tournament Lobby of Voobly using the VCOM Ladder and using the X-Patch balance patch.
All players must log in to the Tournament lobby and play using the same name they Signed up with.
[linethru]Qualification Stage: Only required if more than 32 teams sign up. Teams play off in single elimination to see who makes it into the main bracket.[/linethru]
Single Elimination Stage: The main draw of the Tournament, decides which 3 teams progress into the Final Round Robin, and who falls down into the Lower Round Robin.
Final Round Robin: Each of the 3 teams play one series against each opponent, and will be seeded based on their final score to see who plays off for placement matches.
Lower Round Robin: The 3 losing Round 2 teams play a round robin among themselves to see who qualifies to join the placement matches.
Finals:
Top 2 from Final Round Robin play off in the Grand Final.
3rd place Final Round Robin and 1st place Lower Round Robin play off in the 3rd place match.

1. General Rules |
- All players must respect the Tournament schedule and times for each round. No excuse will be accepted for failing to play in the specified time. player's may be warned, receive an admin loss of 1 game or be disqualified from the tournament.
- Every player must respect their opponent and the integrity of the tournament. Bad behavior (determined by staff) will result in a warning and may lead to an immediate disqualification. This tournament values not only great skills, but also sportsmanship and fairness. Any insult, racism or flaming will not be tolerated. Laming and mind games in game are allowed.
- All players must agree to the No Smurf rule. Each player must submit all relevant usernames for Admin discussion, and to accurately create seeding. Smurfing and account sharing is not allowed. Any discovery of the mentioned will result in disqualification.
- All games are by default to be played in the Voobly Tournament Lobby using the VCOM Ladder
- Upon completion of match, all recorded games must be posted according to the rules and post them in the Recorded Games section of that respective round.
- All recorded games will be posted by a Tournament Administrator except for the Qualification Stage.
If any games are saved and restored please email them in a .zip folder to [email protected] and state which round game it is and who's PoV it is, as the voobly saved files only keep the final portion.
- Additional time to complete your games will NOT be allowed unless with clear prior agreement from admins.
- Once two Teams have arranged and confirmed a time to play, the maximum waiting time is 30 minutes. If one of the Teams fails to arrive, the waiting team must take a screenshot showing http://www.worldtimeserver.com/current_time_in_UTC.aspx (so the current time is clearly visible) with the Tournament Lobby Game Room, and post the screenshot in their scheduling topic. Example. This way, tournament admins will know how long the team waited and upon Admins decision, the team that did not come might get an Admin Loss for the games. Do not try to edit time arrangement posts in an attempt to get free wins, because our forum registers the exact date and hour of each edited post. Such actions are considered cheating, and the offender will be punished according to rules.
- In case of disconnections, the game must be saved and restored. All of the .mgz recorded game files (multiple parts of the game before/after drop) must be provided when posting the recorded games.
If restoring is not possible, the recorded game should be provided, along with any additional information to the Administration instantly. Subsequently, facts will be analyzed and a final decision made.
- Prizes will be sent via PayPal. If the recipients do not use/have PayPal the prizes will be sent by other means. All / any fees will be deducted from the recipients prize.
- If a game is not recorded, it must be replayed regardless of result and evidence of it.
- By signing up for the tournament you agree to have all your games streamed and casted by the official streamers through using the Spectator Mode on Voobly, brought by the Userpatch 1.4 RC version. The streams will always have a delay to avoid cheating, and no other persons are allowed to spectate your game besides the official streamers, or if persons are granted permission by the tournament Administration for a valid reason. There is no assurance of your games being streamed, but the possibility is there at all times.
- New rules can be added and current rules can be changed. However, Admins MUST inform the players about such changes. Some changes maybe necessary while live and will be highlighted in the lobby. The changes will also be highlighted on this topic as a post reply. All the latest additions in Rules / Settings will be in red.
- This tournament is in no way affiliated with Voobly.com, this tournament and any recorded games produced by it are free to be streamed by anyone at any time with no restrictions or demand placed on those persons.

In a Best of 3 (Qualification and Single Elimination Stage) each team is awarded ONE restart each.
In a Best of 4 (Round Robin Stage) each team is awarded ONE restart each.
All other settings (Quarter Finals, 3rd&5th Place Match) Bo5, each team is awarded ONE restart each.
A restart must be requested no longer than 4 minutes of game time (remember that this is shorter than real minutes). When a game is restarted, the civilizations and player spots must be randomised again, civilizations may not be the same as in the previous attempt.

When a game is played using the switch civs and spots setting then the game will be played on =V= Europe 3v3 2017. Each civ MUST be placed in the same location as it was in the previous game (as determined by player colour), and it is up to each individual team to decide who plays as each colour.

Teal colour = Italy
Purple colour = Africa
For example game 1 is Team robo (vs) Team Cebdos
Aztec (Spain), Huns (Africa) and Teutons (Italy) (vs) Chinese (England), Turks (France) and Goths (Greece).
Then game 2, Team Cebdos (vs) Team robo, will have those civs in exactly the same spot by setting their player colours to be:
Aztec (Green), Huns (Purple) and Teutons (Teal) (vs) Chinese (Blue), Turks (Red) and Goths (Yellow).
- Any graphic changes that only affects the player's Age of Empires II: The Conquerors are allowed.
- Cheating is not allowed under any circumstances. Players using any kind of cheat will be disqualified from the event and banned from future Voobly, AoCZone events, as well as the AoCZone forums.
- Receiving information from external sources while playing a match is strictly forbidden and classed as cheating. It is the players responsibility to ensure messages / contact by any means are restricted. If an instance occurs then players MUST notify admins.
- All the game settings provided in this post MUST be followed. Not following them may result in penalties and possibly disqualification.
- No Tournament Administrator is allowed to participate for any team.
- By signing-up for the tournament, you automatically agree with all the Tournament Rules and Settings.
