I did a first time Men at Arms and first time playing Japanese against Mongols. Yeah I won the game but I was wasting so much time.
I screwed up my build and couldn't hit Fuedal age at 23 vils but I had my militia out managed to get some vil kills and idle time out of him.
My aggro strat fell flat in castle age and my army was idle outside his base all the way until Imp/Trebs. The worst part is my vision was very narrow because I lost my scout but never had enough wood to make a new stable while also keeping up farm/skims/mango/pikemen production. I feel like I won't be able to take on better players with so many bad plays I had but I'm not sure what my exact bad plays are.
Maybe my very small base prevented me from getting to a decent woodline to better sustain wood production. In early castle age I was floating 1400 gold and I had to sell it because I wasn't making any gold units. had no idea what to get other than Mangos so I sold it for food/stone. I need to understand how players prevent their ecos from even getting to that point. How did he even lose when he seemed to be better att defending/eco management than me?
