I think many if not most people would like to see more TG competition in 2024. The typical reasons for not hosting TG tournaments are A) lower viewership and B) the fact that it's an admin nightmare. I'm not convinced by A (the obsession with viewership in general is pretty tired at this point), but B is a legitimate concern. Here then is an idea that would give us regular, high level TG competition without the headache that comes with running a full tournament.
The idea is to get 3-4 casters to come together to take turns running a weekly $500 TG showmatch. They would apply for the funds from Microsoft together and lay out a clear schedule for who is in charge of which weeks. The games would be played at the same time every week and would run all year long regardless of ongoing events (do this on a Monday or Tuesday). The designated host that week would be in charge of finding teams and picking settings. Ideally there'd be a rule that no team can participate two weeks in a row so that we see a healthy variety of teams.
This would cost $26,000, about the same amount invested into a certain forgettable meme TG tournament last year. It wouldn't solve the issue completely, but I for one would look forward to this in a big way and I think players would too.
