I really dont like this system, I think every spot should win something like the chinese tournament SY cup.
The reason is that players that dont have more chances of being on top4 will play alot less motivated on the final rounds...
but I have never seen a tournament where everyone wins.
+1 probably the best thing I have read on these forums..You should derserve your winnings. I suggest you split the prize pool in 2.
So 50% goes to share of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and perhaps 4th, and the rest 50% is divided into being a tiny prize pool for each game.
So we will have 7*14 games = 98 games, which would mean, that roughly for every game you win, you earn a 0.5% of the prize pool, which I think is more than enough for playing a short game.
For instance if the prize pool is 5000$ this would mean you earn 25$ per winning game, so ending up being 8th with 4 wins would still pay you 100$, which is still a lot for being last, and is not just given out, but earned.
And being first would pay you somewhere between 1450-1700$
The % can of course be changed as this is just an example, and since the actual prizepool is still unknown, but this would also mean that people would be motivated untill the last game is played.

i think you should split the pricepool in two aswell, winner = 50% and give the other 50% to someone to spent his last couple of years trying to make this all work!?! so i suggest this liivet guy deserves 50% or even 51to have the majority of the pool. He did everything to make this work, spent several of hours a day to give the aoc community what it deserves. I have to go and dry my eyes now. Hope you guys agree with this.

yeah great idea
+1_DK_ said:that idea is not compatible with the 2-0 = 3 points, 1-1 = 1 point, i think, other than that is good
