Main Event Information -> https://www.aoezone.net/threads/hidden-cup-3-main-event-is-here.163735/
I am excited to announce that Hidden Cup 3 is coming, and with the largest AoE2 1v1 prizepool since 2002.
Hidden Cup 2 was extremely popular amongst players and viewers last year, breaking records and bringing an influx of new people to the scene. Hidden Cup 3 should prove to be even better. With eight players invited and eight qualification spots, we could see this shake up the AoE2 competitive scene big time. With so many good players fighting for spots, we could easily see new and exciting names competing for glory in Hidden Cup 3. Players will again be given prenamed accounts based on popular AoE2 characters and be seeded randomly. Players don't know their opponents and viewers don't know the competitors! Huge prizepool. Competitive Qualifying. New Maps. AoE2 Definitive Edition. Same Hidden Cup.
Our 8 invited players will be:
Hera
Liereyy
MbL
TaToH
TheMax
TheViper
Vivi
Yo
Joined by:
ACCM
Antagonist
BacT
DauT
dogao
F1Re
Nicov
Villese
The qualifications will be a broad 32 player single elimination event, where the 8 quarterfinalists will progress into the main event. Players are seeded based on their DE2 ranking and players will be seeded at 23:59GMT on February 14th. You can sign up here for the qualifiers. You can get easy access to current rankings here.

From Microsoft's contribution $35,000 will be used towards the prizepool and the remaining amount will cover costs & promotions for the event. For HC2 I spent roughly $10,000 out of pocket and Microsoft's generosity will ensure all parties involved in HC3 get paid for their work without extreme stress on my part. I am contributing $1 per Twitch Subscriber at conclusion of HC3 (minimum of $5,000), meaning current and future supporters of the channel contribute towards the event as well as myself.
The prizepool will only grow as I have a few things in the works! These details will come in time.
Streaming Policy
The entire event is open streaming. The main event (with the exception of the finals) will be recorded games. Recorded games will be shared within a Discord group moments before each game. The qualifiers will be streamed as recorded games, which will be released within a Discord group shortly before the games are streamed. Every set from the qualifier will be streamed by myself, and the streams will be scheduled as far in advance as possible.
Streamers of the main event must use a HC3 image on their overlays between games. Just like in HC2, I will provide 3-4 color options so streamers can use something that suits their channel the most.
