You thought wrong. In countries like China and Japan people are generally more collectivist, happier to give more importance to the needs of society, whereas people in the West are generally more individualist, happier to put their own needs first.

I think their final paragraph is the most illuminating:No but this guy is

Japan, yes
China............................................
Maybe you shouldn’t laugh at the extreme measures taken in China and the daily reality people have had to deal with for two months now? The extreme lockdown there is what helped us, the rest of the world, gain a lot of time. Then maybe people should learn more from the /selfless chinese about how to avoid outbreaks 11111

On a sidenote, the relationship between Hongkong and China is obviously difficult, but there’s no need to direct malice at regular Chinese people. It’s the government taking decisions and controlling the media, not the people.
Imagine people not being racist, what a world that would be! And if you want to blame someone why not blame the Chinese government? They are the ones that covered up the initial outbreak.Imagine Chinese didnt eat everything that moves in The first place.

Dont get me wrong, the funny thing isMaybe you shouldn’t laugh at the extreme measures taken in China and the daily reality people have had to deal with for two months now? The extreme lockdown there is what helped us, the rest of the world, gain a lot of time.

The funny thing is your attempt at logic.Dont get me wrong, the funny thing is
(1) Chinese = collective / selfless
(2) Chinese = (somewhat) effectively suppress outbreak with lockdowns
(3) OP = (somewhat) praise Chinese
(4) OP = tending to hold a meetup
Do you eat meat?Racist because I said The truth? It wasnt The government eating rats, snakes, bats and pangolin.
Says the person speaking about a hypothetical situation involving a subject they have no expertise in.In current situation it's called being selfish not individualist
For the sake of humankind, stay at home.official rulings prohibit any event with over 100 attendees (at least, in the netherlands that is)
the dutch hc3 meetup will not have more than 100 attendees (I doubt the london meetup will either)
official rules allow us to have this meetup, yet you claim to have the right to deny it?
The dutch meetup is happening and the only reason for me to not go is if I start to show flu like symptoms myself
/oooooooooofThe funny thing is your attempt at logic.
So are you saying... you are a less evolved? 111111people's behaviours have 'evolved' to be more collectivist, as a way of minimising disease spread
Of course, he is just one appendage and they have evolved the whole rest of their bodiesSo are you saying... you are a less evolved?
I hope there will be 0 people at both meetings.
Why are you not drawing any conclusions from Italy's case?
It's not selfish, just ignorant. You need to look into how this thing spreads and why it's so important that everyone does their bit to help delay the spread. This is the biggest health crisis of our time. Maybe the "official rulings" haven't been updated yet, but you can see the way things are going. Just stay home a bit more for a few weeks. It could literally save lives.I dont see how it's selfish to go a meetup that's allowed by official rulings
But Jesus H Christ, in being so wrong you have helped me stumble on to something fascinating, and it's tied to this very discussion!

this is like trying to convince ricojay trading is better
ya'll can say whatever you want, if the government (and thus, assuming, those actually knowledgeable about it) doesnt forbid the meetup and the host doesnt either, imma go and have some fun with anyone else who doesnt listen to random panic-mongers on the internet.
pls tell me how I'm Ricojay, when I adhere to the meta (I consider official ruling the meta) instead of arguing the meta is wrongYour example is correct if A) You are Ricojay or B) You believe Ricojay to eventually be proven correct about his views on trade.
