Even then, those civ categorizations are more confusing than they are helpful so long as there isn't some sort of list somewhere telling us who goes where. Are Malay an eco civ, a naval civ, an infantry civ or what?
I didn't make the graphic ofc, but if I had to do it I would probably assign each civ multiple tags (like eco and naval for Malay), though I can certainly see there's a loot of subjectivity there. Also worth noting that the graphs show pick rate, not win rate.Even then, those civ categorizations are more confusing than they are helpful so long as there isn't some sort of list somewhere telling us who goes where. So I should hold off posting the GG capitalization breakdown then?No offense to whoever made these, but they are pretty irrelevant as they mostly use ladder stats, and pros can troll on ladder, and go random civs there.
For instance, they seem to imply Hera is more known for meso than Yo, or that Viper is subpar on water. Just nope.
Just you wait till you find out who made these KappaNo offense to whoever made these
Draft makes a lot of sense for Viper, I agree. Would be the maps I expect from him given the bans at each stage, and also decent civs for him. Bay makes a bit more sense for Viper than for DauT for instance (double mule cart, Evac, Cup, many melee civs looked DauT)Very early days, but I'm feeling Viper for Stephen.
Viper doesn't know we know about the farms, it's all coming togetherVery early days, but I'm feeling Viper for Stephen.
I already addressed this. Viper farms are a dead giveaway, I fully expect him to change his farm layout here. Don't be suprised if there's no Viper farms anywhere in the quarters.Viper doesn't know we know about the farms
I will agree on that.Gameplay looks more DauT
Ignoring the scoreline, did Gregory's gameplay not look a lot like Viper's? He didn't play bad at all just got edged out narrowly on all 4 maps, and I think it was more Viper than Vinch while Gaja was Tatoh.Anyway, banger game over.
I'm really on Vinch for Gregory for many reasons, but I think one of the most striking things would be that failed water transition that costed Gregory the game. Vinch has that tendency to be "overcreative". Facing a wall, many players keep adding more of the same units, Vinch is typically the type of player to try to break the deadlock by dumping thousands of ressources into fast fires, galleons and Dromons, all of it to sadly accomplish nothing and end up missing these ressources. I don't see a player like Yo bother trying that, and I don't see a player like Viper try it when it made that little sense and instantly seemed dubious, for instance.
Other things feel not Viper or not DauT. Some Yo vibes and some ACCM vibes, but not convinced they'd go for the strat in the first place.
Gajah is still TaToH, the chat kinda switched to Hera because of Hussar grind but TaToH is completely able to do that. Cumans first pick screams not-Hera, unless he trained a lot with GL and is really trying to impersonate TaToH with that Cumans strat and demos. That makes little sense to me.
Remember those were the 4 first civ picks of Gajah Mada, can it be less Hera and more TaToH? View attachment 207376
Yes, Viper is a possibility, definitely agree. But some details seem not-Viper, like the very delayed pickup of relics or expansion to extragolds, or the dubious water switch late in Game 2.Ignoring the scoreline, did Gregory's gameplay not look a lot like Viper's? He didn't play bad at all just got edged out narrowly on all 4 maps, and I think it was more Viper than Vinch while Gaja was Tatoh.
I also have a bit more DauT vibes, the main thing bothering me is the early Bay pick which really does not feel DauT for me.Those initial tower locations in the range of conqs felt too messy to be Viper, IMO Daut v Yo makes sense so far.
