I was already a bit tourned off because of the maps, but now seeing how they dominate I just stopped watching the tourney.
The sponsor should have asked the community or the players or anyone 111 I don't see this being the preferred setting for a group of people, seems more like it was just out of a whim.
Great job by Memb tho, nothing to say, he's just doing his thing.

I can understand. Amphibian terrain isn't my favorite either. I felt the same as you in the show match like a month or two ago. But I saw that some changes were made for this and I really want to see how some of the best strategists in the game adapt to these. So far, I was quite surprised by Lierrey.I was already a bit tourned off because of the maps, but now seeing how they dominate I just stopped watching the tourney.

They are definitely OP especially in two cases:
1. sniping groups of villagers in early game (you have to be walled to prevent this, but what's the fun of the maps, if you have to be walled)
2. In big battles during the late game.
I think it's a pity, because otherwise land and naval units are quite balanced and we could see some enjoyable games when land units were winning (Hera's win, or Lierry) and otherwise.

Players are walling anyway .. where is the difference if someone sneak with 5 archers in your wood or with a demo. I mean you need to built a dock and a slow produced ship which can be spotted easy and is also squishy to micro.

People just keeps crying all the time. Also why ask the community or the players what they want to play. Man this guy give 10.000$ to people he doesn’t know. If players don’t like settings easy solution don’t play the tournament and give your spot to others. Jesus Christ its not that Hard

Having watched almost every minute of the tourney so far, I think the main issue is the speed. They are fast as knights and once they get to your woodline etc. they insta-kill all. I think their blast radius and speed need nerfs or what MbL says will be true. Its unreasonable that they can snipe army that is surrounded by 10 bombard towers, and their speed and radius means by the time heavy demos are sniped they aree so close they kill a large chunk of your army anyways, easily cost efficient.
I also ask that we all(including me) stop complaining in Memb's chat because he is obviously doing the best he can and I feel we are really hurting him with all our complaining. Keep going the great casting Memb, Looove the overlays.

Yeah sure just give up the possibility of winning 4000$... Players are just whoring themselve out for money - that should never be the case in a tournament. And I would be surprised if any of them actually enjoy playing demo wars (and many viewers probably also get turned off).
It remains to be seen if players will be able to adapt their strategies so that demos are no loger as dominating as they are now
i find one thing fun, people wall 100% and make towers in every single game in arabia, but now they do not wall or make towers when demos are comming, anyway feedback is welcome, but im not the age of empires developer, and not who decided the settings, i just decided with @T-West to nerf them something to make it posible to fight, mostly against range units, but they keep using scouts/knights, when the range units are the best choice with good micro.
That demos still dangerous, ofc, otherwise is like if we change the game completly.
But if we can do something else to make it even better we will, but some players didn´t practice or try any strategy, they played 1st time during the 1st series, so is pretty hard to get a balance or know the right strategy like this.
I enjoy so far almost all games, except the bof forest btw mbl and tim.

Yes give up on 4000 if you don’t like it. Every tournament has his downside and you can’t please everyone.
And viewers/ non sponsors have also an easy solution.
1) Sponsor your own tournament and make it better or if you don’t have money then try people to convince them for your settings.
2) don’t watch
3) watch and don’t complain
4) **** off
I think it's a big difference, normally you can fight archers or scouts with villagers, you can run with them to your TC or towers, you can dodge arrows and so on. Against demos you can only quickwall or send villagers in different directions, which both is very hard to do, since they are fast as hell. Nerfing their speed would have been a right step I think.Players are walling anyway .. where is the difference if someone sneak with 5 archers in your wood or with a demo. _TheMAX_ already showed how to beat demo ships I am surprised no one drew conclusions from his gameplay.
Memb please stop saying archers are counter to demos and galleys every time, I have no idea where you got it from.i find one thing fun, people wall 100% and make towers in every single game in arabia, but now they do not wall or make towers when demos are comming, anyway feedback is welcome, but im not the age of empires developer, and not who decided the settings, i just decided with @T-West to nerf them something to make it posible to fight, mostly against range units, but they keep using scouts/knights, when the range units are the best choice with good micro.
whre i said they counter? i said that they are better than knights/scouts, or scouts/knights are better vs demos? i might be wrong.Memb please stop saying archers are counter to demos and galleys every time, I have no idea where you got it from.
Anyway i dont know but is no surprise, demos are strong, who didn´t know it? we just nerfed a bit, if we nerf more, we will just have regular arabia, in mangroove terrain.

I seriously disagree. Just because someone is playing in or watching a tournament (or neither playing nor watching) doesn't mean they don't have the right to complain. I actually think that complaint is helpful and necessary for things to improve, as long as complaint is respectful and not insulting.
I don't think there is anything wrong for example with a player who participates in a tournament saying that it has horrible settings - similarly for viewers

No is not because you know the settings on advance ... complain before. There was a testing phase
The problem is that people arent really being respectful, and memb is trying his best, we should really give him more credit. Not to mention T90 just happening to organise a showmatch today in primetime. We have to support each other, we are becoming as toxic as other gaming communities.I seriously disagree.
