(czech)Lojza on why his confidence is higher than ever, the tournament settings and the map Arena.
TheViper signed up sending greetings your way, looking to deny you the Arena title. His first attempt failed when you beat him in the upper bracket final. What went right then? Can you do it again?
Lojza: Well, in two games I picked way better civs and in the other two games he allowed me to take all the map control. Before the games I wasn't really expecting me to win, but I did it so it obviously boosts my confidence and I feel like on Arena I can do it again.
Biggest surprise for you in the loser bracket? See anyone of the guys that are left challenging TheViper in lower bracket final and ultimately facing you? If so, who's the biggest worry for you?
Lojza: Biggest surprise for me is probably MbL winning Slam. Not sure if anyone there can really challenge Viper. Maybe St4rk if he would train a lot. He has an interesting annoying style, but it's paying off.
What makes Arena one of your better maps? Is it easier to win games by strategy here?
Lojza: Yeah, it's definitely strategy choice. It's not like you have 100 strategy options with every civ, I feel like I usually pick the right one considering how the situation is going.
Best Arena players in your opinion?
Lojza: Every expert could possibly be one of the best players on Arena with enough practice. Hard to tell who is the best at the moment. I feel like Arena games are less predictable than other maps.
slam picked Turks for MbL when he was asked to pick the worst Arena civilization - F1re keeps picking Huns when given the choice. Surprised by some of the civilization choices?
Lojza: Slam's pick for MbL surely surprised me, actually it might be the weirdest pick I've ever seen. Huns are surprising as well. It could be useful to pick them once, but if you are doing it every round you become very predictable and it's very easy to counter them.
You yourself like to pick Brits, but surprised TheViper with a Viking pick in your games. Enjoy the settings allowing you to outsmart your opponent already before the games?
Lojza: Yeah I like the settings a lot. I'm enjoying the mind games before start. Only bad thing is that they are same in every round, so it's harder and harder to surprise your enemy. Maybe switching the civ options every two rounds would make it even more interesting, but it's great tournament so far.
