Well, considering home map controversy in Hidden Cup, Viper is still Habsburg of dynasties, but I think we have clear number 2, who is Liereyy, Hera is definetely one league behind of this two, similar level with Yo.
Jester-Nili is always serious.Wondering how serious he was about it - if at all
Hopefully now that they see how much support AoE2 has they will hold real RM tournaments instead of this feudal start fad setting.I'm not any kind marketing expert, but my assumption is that Red Bull's strategy is to build their brand and measuring brand influence is not just counting raw sale numbers.
And I hope that at least online Red Bull tournaments would continue in future. They have now a solid tournament brand.
Max was 40K according to Twitch Tracker and Nili said all channels, but I think it was max 60KMust've missed it, the last time I checked it was at around 33k. Might be wrong but I think I saw Nili predicted that it'd reach 80k in total? Wondering how serious he was about it - if at all

I hope so too. EW is fine as a side dish but I'd be quite sad if it ends up being the main mode. The problem is that Nili is working for Microsoft now and is in charge of tournaments (someone correct me if I'm wrong)...and I think he likes EW more than RM. So that could potentially be ugly for the future of RM.Hopefully now that they see how much support AoE2 has they will hold real RM tournaments instead of this feudal start fad setting.
Just one more thing you're wrong about.I also have a hard time understanding it, @Jarvin but I guess it's not just total eyeballs for the even (live and vods), but also the fact that people like us, on reddit, on twitter, etc. keep talking about RED BULL Wololo for days/weeks/months to come.
So for those of us that one day choose to buy energy drinks, maybe we don't care too much about the brand, but the one brand on our minds is RED BULL. And anyone that buys energy drinks isn't just buying one. They are buying cases over years and years and creating brand loyalty among their peers. For instance:
What's your favorite soda? Is it what you most often drank as a child growing up? Is it what all your friends drank growing up? Did it EVER change, like in your teens, twenties, thirties?
In my case, my dad drank Pepsi. I like Pepsi more than coke. When I have the choice, I always choose Pepsi. When I occasionally buy soda, I buy Pepsi. Years and years of brand loyalty and most likely because that's what I grew up with and most likely because SOMEONE was influenced somewhere in the history of my family tree, perhaps by advertising.
Is it because Pepsi > Coke? I think so. I would like to pretend so. But half the world (or more?) seems to think that Pepsi tastes terrible and Coca Cola is the true cola. Are they just idiots? Are they right? Were they brainwashed by advertising? Was I? I at least have to admit the possibility. And heck, maybe grandpa JoshuaR was watching a small sporting event sponsored by Pepsi.
It's going to make you more skinny. Super super skinny would be apt.I don't really understand where this is going but wish to point out that I only drink water.
From the talk it seemed more like Nili suggested EW to make it stand out from the other tournaments and because one of the people at Redbull played EW and liked it a lot Wololo was born.I hope so too. EW is fine as a side dish but I'd be quite sad if it ends up being the main mode. There's also this idea (whether is correct or not) that EW brings more new people because it's faster.
We will have KOTD soon, so at least we will have that for sure.
Edit: Oh god, it just occurred to me that KOTD could be changed to EW?
Considering RB has 2 Formula 1 teams, plus 2 football clubs in Champions League with all of them worth millions of dollars (Leipzig might worth billions actually), I don't think paying up for a gaming event is significant cost for them. It could even be guilty pleasure of CEO, or just showing up brand in another area. They don't care about break-even in an AOE event for sure. That is insane to me and makes me wish I knew more about marketing/bussiness 11
by my dumb stupid logic I think: RB makes a portion of a dollar on each purchase of a RB can, so it means that every single one of the 40k ish viewers would need to buy a few dozen cans of RBs for it to get even closer to breaking even. So it has to be the 'indirect exposure' that helps.. but how this somehow works out is just pure black magic to me 111
They probably spent more on repairing Verstappen's bolid after Silverstone GP than on this whole eventConsidering RB has 2 Formula 1 teams, plus 2 football clubs in Champions League with all of them worth millions of dollars (Leipzig might worth billions actually), I don't think paying up for a gaming event is significant cost for them. If I remember correctly what Nili said was that he was presenting some gamemodes to them because they wanted smth faster then RM (not sure if faster games or faster to action) and then someone already knew EW and they decided for that. The problem is that Nili is working for Microsoft now and is in charge of tournaments (someone correct me if I'm wrong)...and I think he likes EW more than RM. So that could potentially be ugly for the future of RM.
But the real question isn't about EW or RM imo it's whether AoE2 or AoE4.
