in which tournament they rate all other players and make seeding when there are 32 players involved? cant really remember one
actually this is not fine because people without a team or mates who are also in the tournament will have a significant disadvantage. Too much potential for drama
Imagine someone have the rating of beeing seed 26 but according to a voting he gets 32 and has to play Viper. He trained a lot before to get in and the rating and then this happens. So an objective measurement gives you 26 while biased opionions 32. There is no way to call this fair :D
Maybe then he deserves to be 32 more than 26, if the majority of the players believes that is where he should be seeded. Also, what about the player with a 25th seed according to rating that has to face the viper in round 1 cause he tried to win a bunch of masterpieces the day before?
This method of seeding used to be much more common in the past, and for example has been very successfully employed at the legacy cup 2 earlier this year (with 22 teams). Anyways, the fact that the top player prefer this method already makes me feel very comfortable that they will be able to rank players appropriately
