Hi everyone. I want to mod DE a little bit (just add regional monks and give Vietnamesse the south east architecture). Anyone has a guide for doing data mods?
Thanks!
Thanks!
I don't think if there are any actually proper guides to AGE anywhere. That being said, I think the tool is very intuitive and you are probably better off trying to learn it yourself over relying on some external tutorial
Civ-specific graphics and architecture sets in general can be found, for example, here

If you had any specific questions though aside from architecture I'm sure there are dozens of people on these forums, including myself, who'd be happy to help
This tool is bundled with DE actually. You can find it inIndeed it seems easy. Where I can find that tool? And which files should I change? Thanks man! I'm even more noob at moding than playing
Thanks a lot! So, If I made only graphic changes for certain civs, would that make a graphic mode or a data mod? Would I be able to use it in ranked games? This tool is bundled with DE actually. You can find it in
AoE2DE\Tools_Builds\AdvancedGenieEditor3.exe
when you input the following data files into the settings

the tool will just handle the rest
Whatever changes you've made you can save into a new .dat file.
To be completely honest with you I'm actually not sure, as I haven't ever made any mod for HD or DE. That being said I'd presume that since graphical switches are still a .dat file modifier they'll likely be treated as a data mod by the game even if they technically don't impact the gameplay itself. Thanks a lot! Indeed. Made some balance mods back in the day. Why?Hey @Lord_patito how's it going? were you able to create any mods for DE?
