I hope this CO2-compensation really goes to the best of climate and not to the pockets of some ultra rich via some shady organizations.. If it does though, thumbs up!
no, here are some interesting reads for you about CO2 https://www.climatecentral.org/library/faqs/plants_need_co2_to_live_so_isnt_more_of_it_a_good_thing and https://www.bbc.com/news/science-environment-36130346This has to be troll
Always nice to see who actually reads the OP.
Why would you have to plant 100 trees to compensate? I think the plants are already really happy that you are flying in ppl and releasing CO2. plants take in CO2 it's called photosynthesis. None the less a nice gesture to make ur own niliforrest.
Thank you-CO2-Compensation: I don't like the fact that I fly people around the world and emission CO2 for that. To reduce the negative effect, I ordered to plant 100 trees (6€ each) in South America.
Since this tournament was mainly community funded I want to be as transparent about the finances as possible:

Notes:
- Donations are before PayPal and StreamLabs fees. A realistic number of money actually getting to my PayPal should be around 34k-35k.
- BBQT Compensation: When I asked Turkman if he wanted to join NAC2, he already had a holiday (including flights) with his girlfriend booked. I promised him that if we get money left over, I'd cover the rebooking fees.
- PCs: i bought two PCs (€820.90/$932.84 each), but will use one as my 2nd PC from now on, so I only put one in this cost list (same goes for the the 2nd monitor).

Again thanks everyone for contributing (no matter the amount). Without you this tournament would not have happened.
Really, I'm more thinking about how the Amazon is getting shredded, and people are still confident that trees in South America are going to be planted and stay there. Questionable. But Nili seems pretty smart and likely researched the organization well. So I'll chip in with a thumbs up.As a physicist working in climate science, I'm really not sure about this climate compensation stuff. Airplanes are by far the worst form of transport. It does definitely NOT help if you spend like 10% of the price on planting some trees. If compensation was so easy, climate change would never be a global concern, so this compensation is more a greenwashing thing than a real solution imo. On the other hand, it's better than doing nothing and the CO2 was really well invested given the great tournament. So next game forest nothing ... and sorry that my first post is on such a peripheral topic.
