does this mean no MegaRandom?im reading everything slowly and taking notes with @Chrazini but i want to point out some stuff that im not into it.
- I won´t change like i did in MSC the meta of the game, because i want do something that is with the current balance, so i don´t want to play "god", we must do something that people play in the tournament and will play, even if some of the suggestions i probably agree and i think is better than the current meta, won´t give examples.
- About teamgames i personally would love to see a 3v3 but as i said i think the prize pool would be not too much for so many players, so i guess we should focus in 1v1 or 2v2, but we are open to anything.
Thanks for all suggestions, keep going, feel so good to see people really interested.
ii) I dont like matches where 1 player wins because he knows the map better than his opponent - because he happened to have more time to prepare the tournament. Arabia only would be very nice but redundant with KotD.
So you can play 2v2 with Daut?8 team consisting of 4/6 players:
Game 1: 1v1
Game 2: 2v2 (different players from G1)
Game 3: 3v3
Game 4: 1v1 (different player from G1 and G2)
Game 5: 4v4
Swiss stage 5 weeks, top4 bracket
How about you dont sign up to tournaments you dont have to time to prepare for? If you dont like those matches, maybe you should look at the players instead of the format.
if they are not willing, then why sign up?Map preparation is not a problem if the tournament is reserved for top players only (say top 16) who can invest a huge number of hours in the preparation of a tournament, but as soon as you include semi-top players (say top 100) you should take into account the fact that they may not be willing for such a commitment, especially for a relatively small tournament like this one.

Wow, AoE has come a long way in last couple of years.for a relatively small tournament like this one.

If you´re saying that we got to the stage, where pros play only for heavy cash, which i disagree with, then perhaps the semipros will gladly split the prizepool, which i dont think is a bad thing.Memb clearly states multiple times that he can't do a big team event and Nili shows up to pitch ECL 2
Great format idea, but imo it's not fair on 32+ players to open over a month of their free time and then play 15 hours+ of sets to split a few hundred bucks at the end. For $10k+ this would be a great event. I think we have to at least try to pretend that "pro" aoe2 isn't a third world sweatshop in terms of compensation.
I'm split two ways about it - on the one hand I do think that 32 pros would play and that's a good thing for the activity and health of the game, but on the other hand if you only have so much butter, you might have to think carefully about how big of a piece of bread you spread it on so that it doesn't disappear completely. I don't want to get to the point where we start getting snobby about prize money, but my gut is saying that 16 players or maybe 32 players in a shorter format tourney is more fair and less demanding than a big multi stage series. Also less cost and effort when it comes to scheduling and organising. If you´re saying that we got to the stage, where pros play only for heavy cash, which i disagree with, then perhaps the semipros will gladly split the prizepool, which i dont think is a bad thing.
