My current suggestion for seeding is:
I don't plan to have a big and long public discussion. But I would like to get some opinions on the percentages.
I know that DE TG rating is not ideal, but I still think it should be rewarded, especially in a 4v4 situation. The /1.2 factor is added to normalise the TG rating to 1v1 rating.
I could think of making the TG rating % slightly lower.
The committee factor could also be lowered, but I think it should be at least 10 %, so it it possible to slightly adjust, especially in 1v1, since from tournament experience, some people should be ranked a bit higher or lower on certain maps.
Each individual player/team for each bracket will be seeded. For a 4v4 bracket, the 4 highest-rated players of your team signed up, for a 2v2 bracket the 2 highest-rated players.
Seeding will be based on
a. Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition ratings (80 %)
i. 50 % current rating at the end of bracket sign-up phase (2020-06-05).
ii. 50 % highest reached rating at the end of bracket sign-up phase.
1. For 4v4, it will be 0.8 * (team game rating/1.2) + 0.2 * 1v1 rating.
2. For 2v2, it will be 0.5 * (team game rating/1.2) + 0.5 * 1v1 rating.
3. For 1v1, it will be 100 % 1v1 rating.
[1., 2. = average of the team]
b. Opinions of a committee (20 %); people included to be announced later.
