Taht would be possible but will need some "rewrite" of the mod. I will look into that.Thank you for the updates PkZ. Would it be possible to add a feature to be able to be able to view multiple spectator 'panels' at the same time? Specifically, the main panel + resources panel on one screen. Would be really nice for 1v1's so the spectator doesn't have to switch player viewpoints back and forth to view resources
Hello, lately the spectator overlay stopped working for me completely. Reinstalling does not help. Any ideas?
That's possible that I might have more. Anyways why there is a limit and so small one in the first place? Lets say that for example on Skyrim I am running close to 150 mods. I will try to disable some to see if it is running. How many Voobly graphics mods do you have turned on? The limit is ~15
@CZ_Mangoto bypass the viual mods limit , you can install some visual mods directly in your game using Aoe2Tools and only have on the voobly the mods that can't work offline like spectator overlay and bluechat etc ...
How did it stopped working? The spectator overlay stopped working for me too. I reinstalled the mod, deleted the mod files and installed again. But still, its not working. I only have 15 mods on Voobly.
I had the same issue and was really wondering what was going onThere is no crashing. 2-3 months ago it just stopped working for no reason. No info displayed in game like you said. I tried to open overlay settings and that didnt work either. It seems like the mod is not enabled or something.
That would be great but I feel like it would have to be a UP feature.I'm not sure if this is in the scope of this, or UP, or the voobly spec system, or none of the above but would it even be possible for spectators to assign player colors? Like team colors but it wouldn't switch depending on player POV. I know this is like the epitome of first world problems, but it could be a neat feature for the game.
Good idea!I am not sure whether this has been discussed before or not, but I think it would be nice if there was a row in the spec overlay with totals per team. Like when it is 4v4 there will be a fifth row under the last player which has simply the sums for population, villages, military, K/D etc. That way a little bit less maths is required when judging overall game developed. @_PkZ_
Good idea!
FeelsBadManOk so this is feedback thread now. One thing I noticed is that the table in spectator view showing number of vills, military, idles etc. does not have total row. Would be nice if it did. Just a small thing.
Good idea too! But not quite sure how to implement...FeelsBadMan

I meant the FeelsBadManYou mean the total? Shouldn’t that just be a simple addition in whatever language you use for the tool? There shouldn’t be a need to extract the team values from the game, right?
I meant the FeelsBadMan
My ideas are:
- Number of TC's (added after the Castles column).
- Wheelbarrow / Handcart. Add as another column under "Eco" and just have one of - / W / H as displays based on what a player has.
- Fletching / Bodkin Arrow / Bracer as another column under "Range" and have one of F / Bo / Br as displays.
- Forging / Iron Casting / Blast Furnace as another column under "Melee" and have one of F / I / B as displays.
- Scale Mail / Chain Mail / Plate Mail as another column under "Cavalry" and have one of S / C / P as displays. if a player also has Bloodlines it's added in the same column, so in Feudal it might say S + Bl
- Ballistics / Chemistry as another column.
I like the idea of having another overlay tab (like we have for resources collected/army composition) containing Technology Upgrades which has information about extra TCs, Eco upgrades, Attack/Range upgrades, Armour Upgrades, other prominent upgrades. This will not make the main overlay larger. I understand all of this info might be unnecessary but this option is basically because you don't want to go to Tech Tree lose time scrolling & more importantly where you can compare the upgrades of all players side by side. There is no option to do this right now in the game. You can click units for Attack/Armour upgrades but not e.g. Thumb Ring/Ballistics/Husbandry. It would be helpful to have these things on overlay.Originally posted on Reddit, but repeating here, after someone reccomended me to do so.
There have been so many awesome tournaments to watch recently, it really feels like a second Golden Age for AOE2. However, with the game having so much streaming support, I feel like there are a few simple things that could be added to the spec overlay mod which would make things much better for both casters and viewers. For example, seeing a caster have to go into the technology tree to see if a player has Wheelbarrow really disrupts the play, but is a very important thing to know about the current game state.
So here are some ideas of what else could be added. I know it's tricky to edit the mod (or is it? with such talent like Jineapple and Scripter in the community?) and also it would be bad to have an overlay that took up so much space that it ruined the view. However a few more columns on the current "main" overlay, or another view that casters could tab between could really help improve things.
My ideas are:
Like I say perhaps this is too much, but some of these things would really help viewers to understand what is going on, and casters can focus on the action!
