Map characteristics cheat sheet:Surf & Turf
A 2v2 hybrid map where each player starts on a quadrant of a mangrove cross. The middle fish is rich, but beware the critters protecting it. The extra golds are in the grassy quadrants while the extra stones are in the bumpy mangrove cross. Oh yeah, you start with a spear instead of a scout.
Seafood Pie
For a 3v3, the outer area’s thick forest provides easy walling, but you won’t find much else out there unless you love 1 tile golds. After a quick chop through a tile of bamboo, you will find the neutral stones and fish. All neutral golds then lie in the Mangrove center, which is accessible by transport.
Dim Sum
Steppe into a land of food aplenty for this 2v2. Snow ridges have stones while dirt ridges have golds. Relics and other delights lie in the central Baobab forest. Fire up your exploration, but don’t flame out!
Arabian Omelette
Think Arabia 3v3 TG. Now think of all neutral golds and stones in the middle with most relics. On bumpy terrain. With elephants…and box turtles? Is the center worth it or will you just trade?
Fishy Fruit Falls
On this 2v2 water map, the central falls are rich with fish and gold, and are surrounded by four main hills. The eastern and western hills have land-based trees, while the northern and southern ones have stone. Teams will spawn close to their wood hill, but the stone hills will be more contested…if you want land units at all.
Four Flavors Nomad
A fairly consistent nomad generation with a few twists. Each player starts with a villager on each of the four continents in this map. The center fish is rich and can be accessed from the outside through the mangroves. How will a 4v4 on Four Flavors play out?
Last, and certainly least, an obligatory cringe-hype message from the sponsor:
In an Age of couch potatoes, Two cream of the crop teams have come together to bring home the bacon.
While the first map may be everyone’s bread and butter, the rest may find them fish out of water.
Will this show match be a piece of cake, or will players eat humble pie?
Viewers are encouraged to egg on the teams as they go nuts putting each other in a pickle. Many gooses will be cooked, but that’s the way the cookie crumbles.
Casters are encouraged (though not required) to cast with graphical mods off (such as small trees or cube mod) to fully enjoy the series.
