Basically the two most viewed AoE2 Twitch guys are moving to FB gaming. This new platform must be very good haha
If Hera moves too, I feel like I'll have to create a Philippe le Bon Facebook account just to watch their streams from time to timeThey would still need some big names to get a critical mass. Another move that is great for Hera/Memb/Dave/Ornlu/Likador
never been on FBMaybe I am too old for this, but FB is so clunky compared to Twitch. I'll stick with any streamer on Twitch.
Yes, you are missing the point why they moved xDnever been on FB
but I doubt T90 and TheViper would get into the hassle to switchi to an other platform if it has worse performance than Twitch. Or am I missing something?
Not talking about performance, but design and structure of the platform in general.never been on FB

Well streaming/youtube is their main job (whether they like to admit it or not with this ridiculous term "content creator"), and more money is appealing sooooooooooooo can't blame them, they're making the best decision for themselves, hopefullyNot talking about performance, but design and structure of the platform in general.
They moved because of money so they surely accept a lesser platform if their income is fixed and higher.
Facebook net income in 2020 was 29.15 billion dollars, don't worry they'll find a way to recruit two or three experienced nerds to improve the UI :DI'm just wondering how long the contract is so I know when I can expect to see him on Twitch again.
I took a look at Facebook gaming and the UI is horrific. Doubt I'll move over there even for Viper.
He's provided me with so much free entertainment that I'm happy for his financial success, I will miss the streams though.
definitely a big plus for him to announce it 1 week after t90. Could look at all the aoezone posts and say what he needed to say. Maybe the announcement would've been a bit different but in the end it doesn't matter at allare ppl still gonna sub on facebook considering how big a fat cheque the two of them got?
viper said it himself that he was being selfish to go to fb..something i admire a lot about the man still
Maybe it's just a 500 dollars cheque lol, we'll probably never now as it's a CONFIDENTIAL contract I supposeare ppl still gonna sub on facebook considering how big a fat cheque the two of them got?

Can you cite a source for that? I don't think either of the two has said that tbh. Also I don't think they really care what some people say or think about them cuz when they get back to twitch, they know everyone is gonna watch again. Same as when Viper Twitch -> Mixer. He had even more viewers after coming back to Twitch lolBut yeah if they return to Twitch just after their contract with FB gaming expired, it won't be good for their image as they're enrobing their decision with good intentions, saying it's the best long-term choice, that AoE2 will touch much more people thanks to FB platform, etc etc.
I don't think Hera will switch to FB gaming, simply because FB is even more casual than Twitch (that's just FB demographics, even your parents are on FB now, for **** sake)So when Hera contacts FB gaming does he be like "hey I know that last offer didn't work out -- can you update your figures and send me an offer?"

to be quite honest the things I feel the most obnoxious on Twitch are all the sub-culture, the hype trains, the tier emotes, and all that memey **** to push viewers to pay…The reality is that streaming platform loyalty is overblown, however there is a lot of inertia with Twitch. Given how obnoxious Twitch is at times and how nice it was before they started to cash in on their investment with ads/bitrate tradeoffs -- will be interesting if we get another mini-golden age.
Basically twitch is the worst platform when it comes to share the incomes from subscribers/adds/bits 50-50 is just too much, the content creators should have gains of 70-30 at least compared to current system, it was discussed in the past and twitch could charge anything cause they were the biggest platform(monopoly) now youtubegaming and fbgaming have won a lot of ground.
Its so sad cause i used to watch viper, but i am not going to fb, i just hope the lord stays on twitch.
