Hello!
Since neither robo nor Lidakor can spare the time to commit this year's Visible Cup 4, I was asked to organize and admin it instead.
The goal for this tournament is to give those of you who didn't qualify into the main event a chance to play on the HC4 settings. And a chance to play seven matches across seven weeks against opponents with similar skill at that!
...but wait, hold on, Visible Cup 4?! Is that correct? Well... two previous editions were... Hidden! ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Now that we got our edition count on par with Hidden Cup, let's talk about the differences between them:
▶ player identities will be visible! ...although noone will stop you from screaming DauT confirmed! whenever a castle is denied
▶ this event will feature a new approach to the map draft - no more home maps, you will be playing the maps in the order you picked them. Arabia will be moved from game 1 to being the tiebreaker map and only used if necessary. Before asking any questions about that, consider reading the Rules & Settings post or go directly to the Handbook.
▶ upon reviewing the uncomfortably small sample size of HC4 games, I've decided to slightly change the civ draft - you will be banning two civs each at the start instead of one. Bans will still be global and hidden.
▶ 128 players with a valid sign up will get a chance to play! For more information, check Signup rules and template
