Hi all,
I checked on steamcharts and AoE2DE is going back up, swell!
Is this an influx of newcomers or old timers coming back? I don't know.
However, let's talk about the chat filter. Isn't it great? Isn't it amazing? I mean, we're all awe by its wonder.
Nevertheless, I observed way more name calling lately. They don't mind the filter, they go around it calling people "noob" or "trash" as they win. No "gl hf", no "gg", no "wp", just a straight up "noob". It doesn't matter if they were crushed on the previous round, they just like to flame.
A few months ago when we had to pause because one of my friend was preparing his baby formula, we had "it's a dad's game, take all the time you need", and laughters, well spirited dialogues, etc. What happened since the summer? Where is all that bad energy coming from? Did you experience it too?
I'm a basic elo player (1000 on 1v1, 1500 in TG). Maybe this type of situation doesn't happen as much in higher or lower elos? I don't know... Tell me what you think!
The thing is I just don't want to get used to that, that's all. I used to enjoy the idea of playing against well behaved and civilized people who could talk strategy after the game and enjoy a good match, either they won or lose.
