when did u join aoe community/aoe online/voobly/aoczone .. (like when did u know about viper/tournament etc)
Is just for know if there is many new people or is still majority of old, I think lately game growed a lot
It was shortly after the time Forgotten empires was released as a mod in 2013(?). A friend told me about the new content. So we downloaded it and started playing offline with each other vs AI. I wanted to become better (able to actually beat that pesky AI 11) and then I found Zeroempires on yt. The rest is history.
I played the game first time on gameranger ~2008 didn't play that much and forgot the game since then.
a day i was scrolling on youtube and i saw a video of sotl talking about samurai and champion... And i said is this game still alive ? i didn't knew there's a relativly existing community or anything so made some researches then i started playing on voobly mainly and that's how im here today.
I joined voobly in early 2017 knew about aoczone/twitch community in mid 2017.
aoe2 at msn zone was my first online game when i was a kid.
I remember playing DM only with always hosting a game with "rookies only"
Came back when HD came out and was really into RM. There was this youtuber called illumiknight or smth which is ressonance22 who made some aoe2 content.
Then I watched some vids of zeroempires and after that there was the membtsuni era which was imo the best era with helen/nelson/genette casting on vooblyofficial and co casters like feage/ra/taff made it even more awesome.
Pity teams like poz and poj kinda stopped attending tournaments and the biased ffa of tyrant and rvk that had tim in it was such a joy to watch haha.
Started playing AOE when I was very young (it was a demo on a CD attached to my brother's gaming magazine) before buying AOE gold when it came out.
Flirted with AOE2 and 3 (campaigns only) before reinstalling via HD about 6 months ago and started playing online for the first time at the start of this year. Still waiting to make the switch to voobly.
Less than a year before I created my AoCZone account. Not so sure exactly, but I think I watched the first AoE II Youtube videos in autumn 2011. Then I found out about AoCZone in the very beginning of 2012 and after I could not download recorded games without signing up I signed up.
Before all of this I did not know about competitive AoE at all. I thought it's so old, there's AoE III and the link to go online in my AoC did not work, so it surely must be impossible to play online But I did not play online games either, only LAN.
I found Zeroempires on youtube at the end of 2014 or so. Found out aoeHD was released on steam and bought it in a nostalgia trip. I've been playing very active from 2014-2016, slowed down in 2017 and i've been playing more and more again lately
After HD came out I started playing/participating seriously, so mid 2013, but my AoCEZone account is from 2011 as I found ZeroEmpires around the time of GML on youtube somehow and watched some casting
First played the game and campaigns in 2003-04, first lan game with hostel friends during college in 2012, discovered gameranger the same year and voobly in 2013. Started following the expert aoe2 scene since mid 2016.
